About Us

The Gloucester County Legal Education Association (GCLEA) is a charity established in accordance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As such, donations to GCLEA are tax deductible. Founded in October 2006, GCLEA works with various bar associations, accounting societies, civic groups, and academic institutions for the purpose of providing educational information on a variety of legal, accounting, and related topics. Programs are designed for attorneys, accountants, other professionals, students, and members of the general public. There is a modest charge to cover administrative costs including printed materials and refreshments.

In addition to holding various seminars, and making public speakers available to the community on a pro bono basis, GCLEA partners with the bar’s Media Committee to assist in producing the cable television show, The Peoples' Law Forum. This program is broadcast as a public service. Major funding is provided by a grant from the New Jersey State Bar Foundation. GCLEA also works with the bar’s Veterans Referral Program which provides names of attorneys who have agreed to furnish free legal consultations to veterans referred by the Office of Veterans Affairs. GCLEA supports the many members of the bar who routinely donate pro bono legal advice to those in need, and who offer reduced-fee assistance through the bar’s "Lawyer Referral Service."

GCLEA is recognized by the Supreme Court of New Jersey Continuing Education Board as an accredited provider of CLE credits for New Jersey licensed attorneys and is recognized by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Continuing Education Board as an accredited provider of CLE credits for Pennsylvania licensed attorneys. GCLEA is registered with the Pennsylvania State Board of Accountancy to offer CPE credits for Pennsylvania licensed CPAs, and is approved by the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy as a sponsor of CPE credits for New Jersey licensed CPAs.
